¡Hola profes! Nosotras somos muy fans de los cuentos, así que la actividad que os proponemos hoy es la de leer la historia de Bree the Tree. A través de este cuento, podéis trabajar en clase cuestiones como la empatía y el cuidado de los bosques y el medio ambiente.
Consideramos que los cuentos son un muy buen material educativo para crear un ejercicio de animación a la lectura. También hacen que los alumnos salgan de su monótona rutina de clases, y por eso se mostrarán entusiastas y atentos.
Para presentar el cuento en clase os hemos facilitado una presentación de Prezi que podéis proyectar, sin embargo, os recomendamos que los alumnos también tengan una hoja individual, ya que eso hará que sigan la lectura con más atención. Esta actividad se puede trabajar en clase de Sciences, Literature and Values en el segundo ciclo de educación primaria.
BREE THE TREE
Once upon a time there was a tree called Bree who
lived alone in a pot in a 3rd grade classroom of a bilingual school. The
students loved Bree, they took care of her everyday a kid would water Bree the
Tree.
Bree loved living in the class and she had a lot of
fun seeing all the kids learning and helping each other. She loved Music class
because she loved listening to music, she also enjoyed Sciences class, where
she could see pictures of other plants and trees, like her. However, she felt lonely
in her pot and she didn't like weekends and holidays because she had no
company.
Bree the Tree wanted to be friends with other trees
and plants, and since she couldn't do that, she told the students how she felt
and that she wanted to keep growing but in a place where she would never be
alone during weekend or holidays time and that she wanted to meet more plants
like her.
All the students started working together in order to
find a solution and solve Bree's problem. They finally decided that they needed
to find a place where she would never be alone, and since Bree loved music, her
new home would have to be surrounded by music. After a long time of thinking,
they reached the conclusion that Bree's perfect new home would be a forest.
All the class made a field trip to a forest that was
nearby. In that forest there where a lot of trees and birds who sang beautiful
songs. The whole class made a great team work effort and planted Bree the Tree
next to other really tall trees.
Now Bree the Tree is one of the many trees that form
the forest and she is really happy with her new life, listening to the birds
and talking to other plants, but the most important, never being alone. She
also receives many visits from the students of the school and they all have a
good time.
